Charlotte & Caribou – Dorothy Hazel Sirois, 89, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022 with family by her side. Dorothy was born in Sedgeford, England on March 23, 1933, daughter of Cecil and Hilda (Overton) Skipper.

Dorothy attended school in England and worked as a Nanny for a U.S. Colonel and his family. She met one of his soldiers, Joseph Sirois, and they soon were united in marriage on December 22, 1951. While Joseph was in the U.S. Army, they lived many places in the United States and Germany, settling in Limestone, Maine, after his retirement. Dorothy was a Communicant of Holy Rosary in Caribou and active with Ladies of St. Anne. She enjoyed her tea time, gardening, and children, babysitting several in the Presque Isle community.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph Sirois; daughter Donna Jones; two grandsons, Justin Chick and Michael Beaulieu; siblings Alan Skipper and wife Ida, Philip Skipper, and Doreen Durham and husband Curtis; and a sister-in-law Maureen Skipper. Surviving are her four daughters, Denise McLellan and husband Andrew of Presque Isle, Deborah Beaulieu of Presque Isle, Patricia Gilreath and husband Joseph of Brunswick, GA, and Dawn Chick and husband Wayne of Charlotte; son-in-laws Timothy Jones of Caribou, and Frank Beaulieu of Presque Isle; nine grandchildren, Danielle Brewer, Tracey LeVesque, Tonya Jones, Joshua Berube, Angela Pelletier, Heather Beaulieu, Zachary Gilreath, Patrick Gilreath and Olivia Gilreath; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vera Cross and husband Ray of England, and Jean Rogers and husband Graham of Goldsboro, NC; a brother Percy Skipper of England; sister-in-law Janice Skipper of England; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 9 to 9:50 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, July 15 at Immaculate Conception Church, 31 Calais Ave, Calais. Burial will be held 3 p.m. Friday, July 15 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Presque Isle.
