<p><strong>CONCORD &ndash; James Rutherford &ndash; McNeil, 71, of Concord, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 8, 2022 at his residence following a period of declining health.</strong></p> <p><strong>Born on December 13, 1950, he was the son of the late James A. and Ellen D. (Corkery) McNeil.</strong></p> <p><strong>James was educated in the local schools and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1970-1973 before being honorably discharged. He worked his way through college earning first his Associates and later his Bachelor&#39;s Degree from Greenfield Community College. He worked for many years as a Maytag repairman before his retirement in 1999. James enjoyed painting, listening to all types of music but always coming back to the smooth sound of Jazz and was an avid reader. For many years now he has been very passionate about AA and his journey.</strong></p> <p><strong>He is survived by his son Jonathan Starks and his wife Heather of Brookline, NH, one sister and two granddaughters, Adriana and Amelia.</strong></p> <p><strong>A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 3PM&nbsp;at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. CONCORD – James Rutherford – McNeil, 71, of Concord, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 8, 2022 at his residence following a period of declining health.

Born on December 13, 1950, he was the son of the late James A. and Ellen D. (Corkery) McNeil.

James was educated in the local schools and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1970-1973 before being honorably discharged.
