Bocy, Ron 1939-2022

The family announces with sorrow his death in Sudbury on Friday, July 8, 2022, at the age of 83 years.  Son of the late Joseph and Rose (née Djeric) Bocy.  Predeceased by his best friend a spouse Lynn Trottier. Loving, father of Mark (Kim Morris) and Jennifer Hurley (Bart).  Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Hannah, Colleen, Tatum and Jared.  Dear brother of Felix (Louise) and uncle to Mark André. As well, Ron will be missed by Pearl Fitzpatrick, his former wife and mother of Mark and Jennifer.

A heart-felt thank you to the staff at Health Sciences North for the attention, kindness and care Ron received in his final days.

Ron was born in the former Yugoslavia and came to Canada at a young age. He lived in various parts of Canada including, Montreal, Vancouver, Sudbury, Grand Prairie, North Bay and Toronto.  He was employed for many years with the provincial government as a Social Worker.

A down to earth man with a great sense of humour, Ron cultivated friendships with people from all walks of life. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking, betting on the ponies at the track and catching up with old friends. His love of music of all genres greatly influenced those close to him.

Sometimes referred to as, “The coolest dad” by Mark’s friends, his memory will live on in all those who knew him. A hopeless romantic, Ron found the love of his life in Lynn, with whom he enjoyed life for 23 years.
