She was born in Washington D.C. in 1932 and graduated from the Roosevelt High School. She lived in Wheaton Maryland, worked as an office manager, and excelled as a leader in party planning sales; earning a mink and a trip to Mallorca, Spain! She served as Troop Leader for 24 little Brownies in 1973-74. Charlie and Cathie loved boating and she served as Secretary to the South River Yacht Club and the President of the Chesapeake Yacht Club Ladies Auxiliary both in Maryland. When they retired to Hilton Head Plantation, Cathie worked 17 years serving her community in Friends With Wheels, an outreach program of All Saints Episcopal Church. After spending a few years living in New Mexico and Texas with family, she returned to her beloved Hilton Head where she made new friends at Indigo Pines and The Pines assisted living facilities. Cathie lived life to its fullest with friends and family. She loved being a grandmother. She was always welcoming and could be counted on for a fun-loving story and laugh. Cathie/Nana will be missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to your favorite charity. Arrangements have been handled by The Island Funeral Home and Crematory.
