<p>Richard D. Metz, age 88, passed away peacefully at his Sun City West home with his beloved wife of 31 years Kathleen at his bedside July 8, 2022.</p> <p>He is preceded in death by his siblings (Phyllis, Patricia and Melvin) and his first wife of 29 years Margie, but survived by their 3 children Sherry [Jeff], Pam [Pat] and Gary [Kay], Kathleen&#39;s 2 children Chuck and Lisa, along with 10 grandchildren (Nicole, Rochelle, Chris, Jamie, Erin, Colleen, Joshua, Lucas, Holly and Sheila) and 9 great grandchildren.</p> <p>Born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan, Richard joined the Air Force after high school serving in Germany.&nbsp; Afterwards, Richard attended Western Michigan University, graduating with a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Economics.&nbsp; It was during this time he met and married Margie (Munro) from Charlotte, Michigan.&nbsp; Richard and Margie raised 3 children living primarily in Northville, Michigan.&nbsp; He worked 30+ years at Ford Motor Company in Procurement.</p> <p>After Margie&rsquo;s passing in 1986, Richard retired and then married Kathleen (Mullen n&eacute;e Hudkins) in 1991.&nbsp; Kathleen and Richard traveled the globe while residing the last 26 years in Sun City West.</p> <p>Richard will be remembered as a loving husband and brother, caring father and hard worker.&nbsp; He will be missed very much.</p> <p>A funeral mass is planned for 10am Friday July 15th in the Chapel inside Prince of Peace Catholic Church at&nbsp;14818 W Deer Valley Drive&nbsp;in Sun City West.&nbsp; Brunch will follow at a TBA location immediately afterwards.</p> <p>A memorial and burial are anticipated sometime this fall in Northville, Michigan.</p>
