Lakeview-Margery Jane Schnick, age 86, of Lakeview passed away at her home on Friday, July 8, 2022. She was born in Van Dyke, Michigan on March 14, 1936, the daughter of Glenn and Zora (Culver) Shepard. Margery was raised in Lakeview, where she attended school and graduated with the Class of 1954. On March 31, 1956, she married James Rogers Schnick in Lakeview. Margery was a home maker and mother, who enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening, canning and taking care of her pets. She was a member of the Cowden Lake Christian Church. Margery will forever be missed and is survived by her 5 children, Michael “Mike” Schnick of Lakeview, James Schnick of Lakeview, Edward Schnick of Greenville, Barbara (Michael) Nielsen of Greenville Debra Reish of Grand Blanc; 10 grandchildren, Amber (Matt), Melanie (Keith), Michael Brooke, Courtney (Maxwell), James Jr. (Kristina), Jessica, Ryan, Alyssa, Garrett, Freya; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Arthur (Louise) Shepard of Lakeview; sister, Dorothy (Marvin) DeRaad of Lakeview; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James on January 15, 1998; her parents, Glenn and Zora; and brother, Aldred (Beatrice) Shepard. Funeral services for Margery will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview with Pastor Madelyn Thompson officiating. Interment at Cato Township Cemetery will follow. The family will greet friends from 3:00 PM until the time of service.
