Robert "Bob" Davidson

Robert Maurice “Bob” Davidson, 94, of North Lewisburg, Ohio passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 19, 1928 in Gainesville, Alabama, the son of the late Harvey and Margaret (Lawrence) Davidson. He graduated from Kenton High School in 1946. Bob served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the North Lewisburg American Legion. Bob was the owner and operator of D & S Tire and Davidson's Union 76 Service Station of Marysville. He was the former president of the Union Local 750 UAW-CIO and a member of the Champaign County Democratic Party. He loved growing his garden and would take footprints of anyone who stepped into his garden. Bob was the owner and manager of several fastpitch softball teams; Plain City Locals, UNCO, D & S Tires, A C & R and finally back to D & S Tires. He started coaching the Triad High School Softball team in 1985 and led the Lady Cardinals to a State Championship in 1992. He has an honorary mention in the fastpitch softball Hall of Fame. Bob thoroughly loved fastpitch softball. His survivors include, his loving wife of 68 years, Dorothy Mae (Knapp) Davidson; his children, Diana Lynn Roznovsky and Keith Wayne Davidson; his grandchildren, Kristofer and James Baker, Rex and Aaron Davidson, Abigale and Mia Davidson, Hannah Davidson and Rebecca Brown; 6 great grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Kevin LeRoy Davidson, Charles Lewis Davidson and Jerry Edward Davidson; brothers, Harvey Gale Davidson and Clarence William Davidson and sisters, Lena Marie Ray and Helen Eileen Titus. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in the FRESHWATER, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, North Lewisburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022 in the funeral home with Pastor Mimi Ault officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg, Ohio. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Triad High School, Fastpitch Softball, 8099 Brush Lake Road, North Lewisburg, Ohio 43060. Bob started the college softball tournments down here so they could see our girls that they wanted to come to their school. that is how Cindy got to go. Bob was a great person. My love and prayers are with the family.
