Jennings Eugene Smith, 80, of Hope Mills, N.C. went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2022. He was born February 21, 1942, to the late, Joseph Jennings Smith and Rowan Lunsford Smith.

Jennings was a graduate of Ashley High School and Belmont Abbey College. He worked in the insurance industry for 43 years. He was an avid sports fan and golfer all his life and played baseball in his younger years and in college.

 Jennings is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Smith; his daughter, Karen Bingham and husband, Larry Bingham; his son, Gregory Smith and his wife, Dawn Smith, and five grandchildren, Jennings, Wilson, Hailey, Cole and Laci.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 12th in the sanctuary of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church at 12pm with visitation with the family from 11am - 12pm.
