Gordon Samuel Davis
It is with heavy hearts the family announce the passing of Gordon Samuel Davis at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre on July 7,2022, at the age of 73.<br><br>Dad retired from Abitibi and was a member of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus and a member of Sacred Heart Parish.<br><br>He was predeceased by his wife Mary, nee McDonald, parents Greg & Maggie Davis, sisters Constance (Len) Lewis, Pat (Joe) Downton, Betty (Joe) Byrne, and sister-in-law Maxine Davis, brother Greg (Florence) Davis.<br><br>He leaves to mourn: his sons Gordie of Waterloo, ON, and Chad (Terry-Lynn) of Dildo, NL, daughters Tanya (Jerry), of Bishop's Falls, NL and Natalie (Darren) Bishop's Falls, NL, grandchildren Jordan (Jade), Kelsey, Jeremy (Megan), Jenessa, Ben and Abby, great grandchildren Luke, Kaylee and Aven, sisters Joan (John) Murphy, Paula (Wayne) Snow, and brother Terry Davis, special friend Barb Ivany, and also a large circle of family and friends.<br><br>Dad loved going to his cabin on Lemotte's Lake, spending days or even weeks, whether in winter of summer. He especially loved to see family or friends come for a visit or come for a lunch - the famous "Jiggs Dinner" he would cook.<br><br>Gord spent many hours on the Exploits River and was only there a couple of days before his passing, trying to fill his last tag.<br><br>The family would like to thank staff in the Emergency Department at the CNRHC for their care and compassion. We also would like to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern, and kindness shown to us during this time of bereavement.<br><br>Public visitation to take place at Central Funeral Home in Bishop's Falls on Tuesday, July 12 from 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be at Sacred Heart Parish on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 2:00pm with interment to follow at the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery. Urn bearer will be Chad Davis. Mask are required by the family for visitation and funeral service.<br><br>The family invites you to join them at the Knights of Columbus in Bishop's Falls, for a reception following the burial.Obituary
