James Roche Robbins
<p>JAMES ROBBINS</p> <p>James Roche Robbins was born in Pampa, TX on June 6, 1937, and left this world on July 4, 2022, with friends and family present. He is now walking in heaven, getting a tour with Jesus! He was preceded in death by his parents Clark Alvin Robbins and Audie Pearl Bingham Husband Robbins, and three older brothers, Elmer Husband, Earl Husband, Carroll Husband.</p> <p>Jim graduated from Denver City high school in June 1955 and worked in local gas plants. He quit shiftwork in 1966 to attend college at NMSU. In 1969 he met and married Nena Hyatt Carrier in Las Cruces, NM. He received his BS in Chemical Engineering in 1970, and the family moved to Victoria, TX to work for Union Carbide before moving to Artesia, NM to work for Navajo Refining. He also worked for PCI in Houston, TX and Texmark in Galina Park, TX. In 1997 he joined Chevron USA in El Paso, TX working for them in Tengiz Kazakhstan, Camberly, England, and Sugarland, TX before retiring to Ruidoso in 2007.</p> <p>On August 22nd Jim and Nena would have celebrated their 53rd anniversary. When they married, Nena had four-year-old twins (Kip and Lisa Carrier), and together they had two more daughters (Cindy and Caren). All together they had nine grandchildren. Jim was destined to be a father and grandfather. He raised all four children and many grandchildren to love God with all their hearts. He took great joy in being a part of his grand-children’s lives: texting, having Bible studies with them, and loving and laughing with them and their spouses. He also had two great-grandchildren that made him very proud, Cora Logue and Dak Martin.</p> <p>Jim also served several terms on the board of Angus Nazarene Church, and as the administrator of Sierra Blanca Christian Academy in Ruidoso for two years. He was involved in local church alliance outreaches to needy families in Lincoln County, painting fences/houses, hauling away yard clutter, and community park renovations. His deep love of God compelled him to help others.</p> <p>He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him well, but we are certain that we know where he is now, and Who he walks with!</p>Obituary
