Obituary

Robert Landry

To my husband in Heaven,
I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with you.
And then I realized…you spent the rest of your life with me.
I smile because I know you loved me til the day
you went away. And will keep loving me…
til the day we’re together again.

With a broken heart I sadly announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Landry on July 5, 2022 at Lions Personal Care Centre in Winnipeg MB.

Robert is survived by his wife Lise (Hamel), twin brother Thomas Landry, brother Dennis (Lorraine) Landry and sister Marlene Kochenash, mother-in-law Simone Hamel, sisters-in-law Pat (Moe) Hogue, Colette (Bob) Rezansoff and Charlene (Keith) Hampton.  He will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, especially Amelia Hampton who held a very special place in his heart.

He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Frances Landry, brother and close friend Ron, sister Myrtle and brother Al.

Bob, born Feb. 2, 1951, grew up in Fort Rouge and attended St. Ignatius, Earl Grey and Grant Park schools and RRCC.  In 1977 he became employed by the City of Winnipeg Parks and Recreation department where Bob remained until he was placed on disability pension due to deteriorating health.

He developed a love for maps and travel at an early age and had many adventures in his motor home with Tommy and his mother in the USA, including the famous Route 66, with a special love for Las Vegas.  Later Bob and Lise traveled to Cuba several times, cruised the southern Caribbean and Norway.

Another passion was listening to music of the ‘60s, and he loved old TV shows, especially westerns.  Making people laugh gave Bob much pleasure.

He had been residing at Lion’s Personal Care Centre since April 2022. Bob was treated wonderfully well there, and the exceptional care and compassion given by the Third Floor staff deserves much thanks.

Funeral Services were held in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fannystelle, MB on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment in the Fannystelle Parish Cemetery.
