<p><strong>Mary Katherine Howard Taylor</strong> of Farnham, Virginia departed this life on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at her residence.&nbsp;</p> <p>Mary Katherine Howard Taylor was born on December 17, 1947, the fifth of nine children, to the late Freddie D. and Eunice Viola Howard in Mollusk, VA.<br /> <br /> Mary attended school in the Lancaster County school district. She was baptized at Hartswell Baptist Church at an early age. Mary graduated in 1967 from Brookvale High School. She was united in holy matrimony to Calvin H. Taylor and this 55 year union was blessed with two children, Calvin D. Taylor and Cheryl Sydnor. After her union, Mary moved her membership to Ebenezer Baptist Church in Sharps, VA. She served on the choir, usher board, and hospitality ministries, as well as assistant church clerk.<br /> <br /> Mary was employed in various work industries, working at Levi Strauss, Inc. in Warsaw, VA, Best Products in Arlington, VA, Giant food in Springfield, VA, and in the pharmacy at Fairfax Nursing Center, which inspired a love for medicine. When she retired, she returned to the Northern Neck to work at Rite Aid in Callao, VA as a pharmacy technician.<br /> <br /> On Wednesday, July 6th, 2022 at 4:08 a.m., Mary passed peacefully to her eternal home at her residence. In addition to her parents, Mary was proceeded in death by her sister, Mabel, and brothers, Robert and Freddie, Jr.<br /> <br /> She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband, Calvin H. Taylor; two children, Calvin D. Taylor and Cheryl Sydnor (Jonathan); two godsons/nephews, Dean Taylor (Ciara) and Brian Newton (Valerie); six granddaughters, Veronica, D&rsquo;Andria (Chris), Jasmine, Kathryn, Sheryon (Dyron), and Elizabeth; five great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; two brothers, William Howard and Charles Howard (Clarice); three sisters, Marion Alfreda Harris, Eunice Hopkins, and Rose Newton, a special brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Louise Lewis, and a host of loving family and friends.</p> <p>Home Going Service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 11AM in the chapel of the <strong>WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME.</strong></p> <p>Interment will follow in the <strong>Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery</strong>, 1768 Sharps Road, Warsaw, Virginia</p> <p>Remains may be viewed from<strong> 5PM until 7PM</strong> on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the funeral home.</p>
