Ki'Mora Da'Tanya Johnson Obituary

Ki’Mora Da’Tanya Johnson was born on February 10, 2004, to Denita Johnson and Kemyatta Johnson in Pomona, New Jersey. She departed this life suddenly and entered eternal rest on July 3, 2022, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.

Ki’Mora was educated in Caswell County Public Schools and recently graduated from Bartlett-Yancey High School in June of 2022. She was employed at the Caswell House in Yanceyville, North Carolina  while attending Bartlett-Yancey High School. She recently accepted a job at Walmart in Danville, Virginia. She was excited about starting her new job at Walmart. Ki’Mora had dreams of opening her own hair salon.

In 2013, she was baptized and gave her life to Christ at Emanuel Temple in Danville, Virginia. Later she attended The Word Church of Chatham, Virginia under the Apostleship of Tanya Carter from 2014-2017.

Ki’Mora was full of energy and joy and always brought a smile to everyone who crossed her path. She enjoyed eating and her favorite food was mac and cheese. As you know, you had to cook it just right because she was the mac and cheese expert. She was such a cheese lover. She enjoyed having fun with her friends and family. When Ki’Mora wasn’t in school or working, she enjoyed spending time  with her baby girl, Ky’Ari, whom she truly loved and cherished. Ki’Mora was always there to help anyone in need as this was instilled in her at an early age by her parents. She had the voice of an angel and loved to sing.  Ki’Mora is deeply loved and will be missed by her parents, siblings, and family. She will continually be in our hearts; we know to be absent from the body that she is present with the lord.

Ki’Mora was preceded in death by her grandfathers, James Cotton and Norbert Algie Wilson; her great grandmother, Melinda Rodriguez; her great great grandmother, Lucinda Cooper; her great grandfather, Roque Rodriguez; her aunts, Faith Stephens, Carmen Blake, and La’Tanya Wilson; and her uncles, Jimmy Cotton and Mark Cotton.

She leaves to cherish her many wonderful memories: her beautiful daughter, Ky’Ari Jane Thompson; her loving parents, Denita and Kemyatta Johnson; her siblings, Kamal Johnson, Keyon Johnson, Koran (Mariah) Johnson, and Karanza Johnson; her grandmothers, Mildred Johnson and Raquel Rodriguez; her great grandmother, Martha Hayes; her aunts and uncles, Meyesha Gilliam, Tapowell Johnson, Dwight Harris, Robin Williams, Theresa (Andrew) Williams, Crystal (Quintin) Lewis, George Crouch, Derrick Lewis,  Joe Cotton, Aisha Stephens, Khalif Wilson, Jamel Wilson, Robin and Alexis Wyatt; her special cousins, Kyrie Johnson, Kanica Johnson, Quamirah Wyatt, Malik Ford, and Jamilla Richardson;  great aunts, Rosita Bond and Christina( Greg) Thomas;  she also leaves behind a host of cousins, great aunts, great uncles, and great grandparents; three special friends, Lyniah Slade, Dominique Currie, and Calvin Thomas; her second mom, Candice Poteat; her special aunt, Aisha Skipper; and a host of other family members.

With humble hearts,

The Family
