Ralph C. Makowski December 4, 1937 - July 2, 2022 Buchanan - Ralph C. Makowski, 84, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022. Ralph was born December 4, 1937 in South Bend to the late Casimir and Genevieve (Janowiak) Makowski. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Makowski; brother, Thomas Makowski, sister, Patricia Schendera; and brother-in-law, Carl Kay. Left to cherish the memory of Ralph are his children, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Steve) Mrozinski, Mark Makowski, David (Shelley) Makowski; grandchildren, Krissy (Aaron) Freitag, Staci (Matt Johnson) Mrozinski, Brad (Bernadette) Mrozinski; great-grandchildren, Hanna & Owen Freitag; sister, Michelene Kay; sister-in-law, Charlotte Makowski; and several nieces & nephews. Ralph graduated from Washington High School in 1956, then joined the U. S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Moose, and he was an usher for Notre Dame football and basketball games for many years. Ralph worked for Allied Signal for most of his life. He enjoyed farming and playing cards. Most of all he loved family gatherings, his family meant the most to him. Visitation will be at ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, Mayflower Rd, 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 5, 2022 and 9:30am – 10:30am, Wednesday, July 6, 2022 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 am in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to donor’s choice. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net
