Dorothy Langley Pate

Dorothy Langley Pate, 82, was welcomed into her heavenly home on Sunday, July 3, 2022. Dorothy was born in Wilson County to the late Frank Lester Langley and Naomi Rowe Langley on August 25, 1939. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John Carroll Pate, Jr.; sister, Betty Jean Pope; and brothers, Jerry Langley, Leatrice Langley, J.T. Langley, Jimmy Langley, Harold Langley and Bobby Langley. Possessing a deep faith in her Lord and Savior, Dorothy was a member of Stoney Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church. She displayed the love of her Lord in her many acts of service in His name. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Dorothy’s life at 12:00 noon in the chapel with Pastor Barry Williamson and Rev. Patrick Muston officiating. Interment will be held later at Wayne Memorial Park. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 63 years, John C. Pate; daughter, Tammy Pate Osborne; son, Michael Pate; daughter-in-law, Robin Pate; grandchildren, Kyle Pate, Callie Pate Attum, Tyler Pate, Tanner Pate, Caroline Osborne, Gabrielle Osborne and Dalton Osborne; sister, Ann Ripson and husband, Frank; and brothers, Jarold Langley and wife, Mary Sue and Jack Langley and wife, Melda. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in her memory to Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 752 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or to Community Home Care and Hospice, 2309 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
