SCOTT ~ Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at a 2:00 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in Melancon Funeral Home in Carencro for Emile Calvin Cormier, Sr., age 80, who passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will be in St. Peter Roman Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. Mr. Cormier was a native and lifelong resident of Scott. His true passion was horses, Mr. Cormier spent his life training and raising thoroughbred horses. Survivors include three sons, Clyde Cormier and his companion, Vivian Taylor of Cankton, Byron Cormier of Scott, and Cecil Cormier of Scott; six grandchildren, Katie Muscarello and her husband, Jack, Tyler Cormier and his wife, Lauren, Masie Cormier and her companion, Tucker Royer, Damian Cormier, Ashley Daigle and her fiance, Scott, Cecile Emile Cormier, II and his companion Evelyn Trejre; and three great grandchildren, Austin, Addison, and Dierks. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Comeaux; his parents Emile Paul Cormier and the former Eula Savoie. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 am Tuesday and will continue until service time on Tuesday.
