Obituary

Lorraine “Lee” M. (LeClair) DiBenedetto – No. Andover, MA

Lorraine “Lee” M. (LeClair) DiBenedetto age 87 former longtime resident of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Sutton Hill Nursing Home in No. Andover.  She was born on August 22, 1934 in Lawrence, MA the daughter of the late, Leo and Mary (Rogers) LeClair.

She attended nursing school later in her years where she became an LPN and loved her position of caring for her patients.  She started off her career as a nurse’s aide and worked all her years at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home.

She was known to many of her “kids” as Mrs. DB or Ma over all the years of chaperoning the White Eagles Drum and Bugle Corps. Where she was always bandaging an injury, sewing up a hole in a uniform, feeding someone who forgot lunch, walking beside the Drum Corps in a winter parade warming up cold hands or a summer parade giving water or coddling a broken heart.

As everyone knew Lee’s favorite place in the world was Salisbury beach where she vacationed every year for 60 years.  They called her the Salisbury Beach witch because she always brough the sun with her when she arrived for vacation.  The time spent with family there including five generations of family were the best memories for her.

She was an amazing person who had a strong faith in God and Mary the Virgin Mother.  She will leave an amazing legacy of love and family.

Lorraine is survived by her daughters Dawn Oliveto of Exeter, NH, Nancy and her husband Tony DiFrumolo of Woburn, MA, Lisa and her husband Chris Gray of Hampton, NH and Nicole and her husband Steve Jackson of Pelham NH.  Eight grandchildren Nicole and Joseph Iaci, Danielle and David DiFrumolo, Anthony and Nicholas Grace, and Taylor and Steven Jackson.  Five great-grandchildren, Arianni, Dominic and Adrian Velez, Kashton Grace and Enzo Jackson.  She is also survived by her sisters in law Marie Doiron of Lawrence and Rosemary DiBenedetto of Methuen as well as many nieces and nephews, especially her niece Linda Holmes, with whom she had a very close relationship.  She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend you could ever ask for.  She was predeceased by her mother and father Leo and Josephine (Rogers) LeClair, her husband Nicholas DiBenedetto, her brother- in -law and sister Leo and Irene Ouellette, and her brothers- in- law Robert DiBenedetto and William (Red) Doiron.
