William Hardy Carter

Funeral services for Mr. William Hardy Carter will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Bentley Church of Christ, with Reverend Bill Nettles officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bentley, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville. Mr. Carter, 85, of Ball, entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Woods Haven Senior Citizen Home, Pollock, LA. He was a native of Jonesville. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Bentley Church of Christ. He was the owner and operator of Carter’s Upholstery Shop for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his true passion was playing dominoes. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lanie Carter; one grandson, Vernon Mitchell Carter, Jr.; and numerous siblings. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty-five years, Helen Carter of Ball; three sons, Leroy Carter, and his wife Stephanie, of Deville, Vernon Carter and his wife Kathy, of Pollock, and William Carter, Jr. of Homer; two daughters, Janet Nugent of Dry Prong and Joyce Chandler of Ball; one sister, Mary Lou Blackshear of Lafayette; eleven grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held at Bentley Church of Christ, on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Honored to serve are pallbearers are: Derek Carter, Ashley Carter, Brandon Carter, Eric Carter, Roy Ross, Zachary VanGossen, Nicholas Chandler, and Travis Chandler.
