<p>Bonnie Lou Smith, 69, a resident of Cherry Valley, departed this life, Sunday, July 3, 2022, in Jonesboro, after battling a long illness. She was born, October 10, 1952, in Portsmouth, Virginia, the daughter of Harril Robert, Sr. and Doris Corrine Stowe Bowen. &nbsp;She married Mr. David Smith on July 24, 1979.</p> <p>Bonnie was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, cross stitch, painting and flower gardening. She was a Christian woman who never met a stranger and was very warm and open to others. She loved everyone and they loved her back. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother and friend, always worrying about others first before herself. Bonnie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents, and two grandchildren: Katelynn and lane Smith.</p> <p>Survivors include her husband of 43 years: David Alan Smith of the home, one son: George Alan Smith and wife Sherry of Hot Springs, four daughters: Reathey Marie McKee and husband Nick of Cherry Valley, Catherine LeMaster and husband James of Cherry Valley, Christina Smith-Wooley and husband Dennis of Ohio, Kristi Moreno and husband Adam of Cabot, one brother: Bobby Bowen, Jr of Jacksonville, two sisters: Linda Kirk of Hickory Plains, Carla Gibson of Cabot and 20 grandchildren.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to St. Jude&rsquo;s Children Hospital.</p> <p>According to Bonnie&rsquo;s wishes no services will be held.</p> <p>Cross County Funeral Service &amp; Crematory had the honor of handling the arrangements for the Smith family.</p>
