David R. Freelove

<p>On Monday, June 27, 2022, David R. Freelove passed away peacefully at his home in Albuquerque, NM, surrounded by his family. David is the husband of Mary Jane Freelove; father of Mark, Brian, Robert, and Dawn Freelove; and father-in-law to Anita, Karen, and Amy; proud Papa to grandchildren, Haley, Trevor, Eric, Delynne, Mary and Lukas; even prouder great-Papa, to Jaelyn and Vivienne; son of Eric and Lena Mae Freelove; brother to Roy, Kenneth, Betty, Sue, Mike and<br /> Jimmy; uncle to a legion of nieces and nephews; and friend to many more.<br /> Those blessed to be in David&#39;s family knew they were loved deeply and protected fiercely. David Freelove was born in Taos, New Mexico, moving to the Cuba and La Jara area where he first started a small ranch and construction company with his father, Eric Freelove.<br /> Later, David moved his family to the Oklahoma Panhandle where he helped his brother-in-law start commercial cattle feeding operation and ranch. David remained a commercial cattle feeder and rancher for most of his life. David and Mary Jane returned to New Mexico in 2011, settling in Albuquerque. David was a lifetime member of the Chama Masonic Lodge in Cuba, New Mexico.<br /> Following David&#39;s wishes, no public funeral service will be held. Instead, there will be a private celebration of life observed by his wife and four children.<br /> Those wishing to honor David&#39;s memory may do so by making a memorial contribution to the Panhandle Cancer Cure Foundation at <a href="http://www.panhandlecancercurefoundation.org.">http://www.panhandlecancercurefoundation.org.</a></p>
