Gloria Agos Pishos, 89, recently of Lake Forest, California, died on April 6, 2022. Gloria was born in Greece and emigrated to America when she was 19 years old. She quickly learned English and found work. She met her future husband, Sammy, at a wedding shortly after arriving. They were wed themselves in 1953. They made their home in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, and soon became the parents of three daughters. They had a happy and loving marriage until Sammy’s passing in 2011. She managed to run a household, raise the girls, and provide care for her aging in-laws with diligence and grace. Sammy and Gloria made lifelong friends in Mt. Pleasant, so it was difficult to move to San Ramon, California in 1981. Nevertheless, they found a good life there also. In order to spend time with their only grandchild, they made a final move to Lake Forest, California in 2009.
Gloria showed her love to all through her cooking and baking. We will all miss her pita, baklava and other Greek and American specialties. In addition to these talents, she was kind, gentle and loving to all. Gloria was predeceased by a daughter, Patty, and husband, Sammy. She is survived by daughters Cathy of Tucson, AZ, and Christine and grandson, John, both of Lake Forest, CA. She is survived by two sisters, Irene and Mary, their families, along with many other family members.
