Services for Mildred Bernice "Millie" Dowell, 81, of Vandalia, will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday June 28, 2022 at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Vandalia with Rev. Frank Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Dowell Passed away at 5:36 A.M. on June 25, 2022 at Tri County Care Center in Vandalia. She was born on May 24, 1941 in Lincoln County the daughter of Cleve and Martha Welch Luckett. Millie married James Christopher Dowell on November 28, 1958 in Vandalia and he preceded her in death on December 3, 2020    Survivors include: two sons; Jim Dowell of Wellsville and Rick Dowell of Center, one daughter; Lori Shaw of Middletown, five grandchildren; Colton and Cody Dowell, Samantha Shaw, Dusty(Tasha) Vonvain, and Megan Dowell, and one great granddaughter Peighton Lionberger. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one little brother Archie David Luckett. Millie worked at the Vandalia garment factory for several years. She enjoyed sewing, working with her flowers, but most of all she enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Austin Welch, Nick Welch, Tom Welch, Theo Welch, Aaron Wech, and Andrew Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be James Luckett and Kevin Welch.
