Jerry Dan Miller passed away June 22, 2022 in Fort Worth Texas at the age of 79. He was born August 10, 1942 in Athens Texas to the late Isaac Nelson Miller, Jr. and Vema Ray Miller (nee Boyd). Jerry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Jean Miller (nee Holcomb) and his children Terry Miller Raley, Toni Miller Sutton and Scott Allen Miller, his son-in-law Randy Sutton, his brothers Steve Miller and Larry Miller, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Jerry grew up in Seagoville Texas where he graduated high school and married his childhood sweetheart Barbara. After graduating from East Texas State University with degrees in math and business, the family moved to Bowie, Texas where Jerry began his career with the Haggar Company. Jerry and Barbara raised their children in Bowie, where he enjoyed playing golf, trips to Vegas and Jackrabbit football. Jerry left the Haggar Company to start his own electrical contracting business Botex Electric which he operated in the DFW area until just a few years ago, when he retired permanently to Athens where he enjoyed ranch life, raising cattle and his most recent passion, raising Texas longhorns. Jerry was the larger than life patriarch of a close family and he will be remembered for his keen intelligence, sharp wit and devotion to those he loved.
