Edward Oliver Zufall, Sr., 94 of West Lafayette passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Indiana Veteran’s Home. Edward was born March 19, 1928 in Lafayette, IN, to the late Ralph and Grace (Reed) Zufall. He proudly served in the United States Army. His first marriage was to Ruth (Klumpe) Zufall, she preceded him in death in 1965. He married Martha J. Russell on October 1, 1966 in Lafayette. She passed on July 9, 2017. Edward was a member of Federated Church, American Legion post #268 and AARP. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. Surviving are his children: Edward Zufall, Jr. of West Lafayette, IN, Michael Zufall, Deborah Richey of Omaha, NE and Karen Steele of Battle Ground; stepson, Virgil McCorkle; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Along with his wife, Martha, he is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Raymond and Roy Zufall; Stepson Clyde McCorkle; sisters Mary Hayes and Helen Bailey. A Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Wyandotte Cemetery. In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association.
