Robert Raymond Moore Obituary

Robert Raymond Moore died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 77 on June 22, 2022. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Bob was born and raised in Akron, Ohio to Robert E. and Marie Moore. He was a graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School, Wheeling Jesuit College, and the University of Akron where he earned his CPA and MBA.

Bob was married to his wife Frances Gradisar Moore for 52 years, and was the loving father to four daughters Melissa, Gretchen, Megan (George Santosuosso), and Erin (Isaac Sernoffsky). Bob loved spending time with his five adoring grandchildren June, Luke, Caleb, Matthew, and Terese.

Bob worked as an accountant for many years and was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He served on the Parent's Association Boards at both Our Lady of the Elms High School and John Carroll University.

Bob was a long-time parishioner at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Copley where he served as an Eucharistic minister. He was a member of his local Kiwanis chapter and he spent countless hours helping to coach his daughters' softball games, cheering them on, and working to help those around him.

Everyone who knew Bob knew him to be a kind, funny, gentle person, known for his love of God, family, and of course vanilla ice cream. He and Fran loved exploring and going on adventures together, whether it be through travel overseas, seeing a play, or spending time with family and friends.

For 35 years Bob struggled with Parkinson's Disease, caused by exposure to the chemical agent orange during active duty in Viet Nam. Bob never once complained about his illness or the impact it had on his life. He never let it affect his strength of character. His life was an example to those around him, always displaying dignity, perseverance, kindness and humor in the face of challenges.

Bob's family is so thankful that he was always surrounded by such loving support and laughter from his extended family and very dear friends through the years. It has been a true blessing. They would also like to thank the staff at Rose Lane Rehabilitation Center for their loving care of Bob.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Lady of the Elms High School, Ivan Gradisar Sr. Scholarship Fund. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Gail. He is survived by his brother Jerry (Frances), and sister Anita.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 10:00am at Guardian Angels Catholic Church (1676 South Cleveland Massillon Road, Copley, OH 44321) followed by a memorial mass at 11:00.
