Sandra Frances Spencer

Sandra Frances Spencer (Nee Uliski)

September 12, 1961 – June 17, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, “Mo-Mo”, sister and daughter, Sandra Spencer (60 years) of Thompson, Manitoba at the Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 17, 2022.

Sandra is predeceased by her mother Genevieve Uliski (nee Schimnosky), brother Gary Uliski, in-laws Ken and Isabel Spencer and her fur-child Marty.

Left to mourn are her husband of forty-three years and best friend Neil Spencer, and their three children Mandy (Grant), Jason, Jennifer (Danny & Connor), Tasha (fur-child) and her pride and joy, her grandsons Dylan and Grayson. Sandra also leaves behind her father Alfred Uliski, sisters Marie Uliski, and Kathy Uliski and many extended family and friends, with special mention of her dear life long friend Tammy Taylor.

Sandra was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Alfred and Genevieve Uliski and was the youngest of four siblings. She was raised in Thompson, and together with her husband Neil built a beautiful life that included many summer nights spent on Paint Lake, over the top Christmas celebrations with her true passion, the Christmas Village. She loved hosting and creating delicious meals with new recipes and fancy cocktails. She opened her home to many, and new friendships formed from gathering at Sandra and Neil’s.

Sandra attended Keewatin Community College where she obtained a certificate in Secretarial Arts. She worked for various organizations in administrative roles often becoming “the go to person” and bringing a fun and memorable energy to the office. She took great pride in her work, and more importantly she cherished the life long friends she made along the way.

Sandra naturally spoiled those around her, and none more then her “boys” Grayson and Dylan. She loved being a grandmother AKA “Mo-Mo”; having water gun fights, rough housing, nerf wars in the house, board games and so much more. She showered them with unconditional love, toys, new experiences and giant Mo-Mo hugs. Sandra was always scheming up the next epic experience with the boys planning it to the last detail which often included the best snack bag.

She loved shopping for the best deals, adding to her collection of things other people might need as she would often be heard saying “Oh, let me see I think I have one in my spare room”. She had many hobbies and past-times she shared with friends; learning introductory sign language, obtaining her bronze medallion Life Saving course, bees wax candle making, tufting, willow chair making, quilting, cake decorating and perfecting the healthiest dog food. She was always willing to lend a hand, volunteering her time and skills. She was a master planner, organizer and always preparing for “just in case”.

Sandra was looking forward to the next chapter in her life, her retirement with Neil. She was planning on moving down south, spending more time with her children and grandchildren and she would often say “I’m just going to do whatever I want”. Sandra loved the life she built with Neil, she was incredibly proud of her family and described her life as “I have everything I want”.

Sandra left us far too soon, we will cherish the wonderful life and memories she made. With deepest gratitude we would like to thank friends and family for the love, support and condolences during this difficult time.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial Service to be held on

Saturday July 09, 2022 at 11:00am

St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church

114 Cree Road Thompson Manitoba,

with a luncheon to follow.

Honorary Pallbearers: Tammy Taylor, Debbie Kitzul, Laura Allen, Diane Ernst, Dora Anderson, Jackie Hykaway.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made the Thompson Humane Society 27 Nelson Rd. Sandra was one of a kind, few people could keep me on the straight and narrow, yet Sandra just said “no John”, that was often and much appreciated by many particularly my CEO. Thanks for all your years of dedication and support. Hugs
