It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Maria Regina. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, June 19, 2022. She was a devoted and loving wife to our father, Donaldo (predeceased) for 58 years, loving mother to Donalda, Duarte (Ljiljana), Dalila (Andrew), Don (Patricia) and Delbert (Jane), loving avó to Tanya, Donald (Andrea), Ashley (Trevor), Michael, Daniel, Amanda, Joshua and Dominic (great grandchild) and loving sister to Giselda (Antonio). In her late 30s, she was faced with caring for her ill husband and raising five children on her own. Those who knew her know she was a very determined and strong lady who worked very hard to support her family. She taught us the importance of family, to work hard, be kind and generous and to always be there for one and another. She also taught us her love of cooking leaving us with the many recipes we now cherish. Her life is to be celebrated. She will be missed and fondly remembered by her family and the many friends she made along her journey of 87 years. Resting at NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue, Toronto (North of Rexdale Boulevard), on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 10 a.m. until service time in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Interment Riverside Cemetery.
