Lonnie Howard Herrick
<p><strong>Lonnie Howard Herrick, 78, of Steinauer, Nebraska died Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Pawnee County Memorial Hospital. He was born to Howard and Marguerite (Clark) Herrick on January 21, 1944. He attended country school for two years before moving to Table Rock Public School where he graduated in 1962. Lonnie then joined the Army Reserves attending basic training in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Upon his return, he drove a cement truck for Binder Brothers for six years while also helping his dad and brothers farm. It was during this time that he met his wife, Frannie Gyhra. They were married on August 9, 1969, at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Steinauer, Nebraska. To this marriage were born 4 children: Dee, Jody, Kelly and John. They lived on a farm north of Table Rock for 19 years before moving to Steinauer.</strong></p> <p><strong>Lonnie had a love of the land and spent his life farming. He also raised cattle and hogs. He once said no one lived closer to God than a farmer. He also enjoyed playing cards, having a beer with friends and anything doing with mechanics.</strong></p> <p><strong>Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary Herrick, his parents-in-law, Leonard and Adelaide Gyhra, brother-in-law Wayne Schulenberg and nephew Bradley Brewer. </strong></p> <p><strong>He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frannie, daughters: Dee (Matt) Kuhlmann of Table Rock, NE, Jody (Chad) Ketter of Home, KS and Kelly (Bruce) Kohmetscher of Blue Hill, NE, son, John (Kristen) Herrick of Table Rock, NE, grandchildren: Taylor (Jordyn) Johnson, Brooke (Matthew) Milke, Schuyler Kuhlmann, Bailey (Jesse) Hickey, Sutton Kuhlmann, Henry, Eli, Maria and Desi Ketter, Lane and Cora Kohmetscher, and Lydia, Hannah and Sophia Herrick, great-grandchildren, Spencer and Alaina Milke and Creighton Johnson, sister Nancy Schulenberg of Table Rock, NE, brother Dale Herrick of Table Rock, NE, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to mention, but still loved.</strong></p> <p><strong> Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Steinauer, Nebraska, Father Michael Christensen officiating.</strong></p> <p><strong>Visitation 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. , with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Interment at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Steinauer, Nebraska . Memorials to family's choice. Online condolences may be left at www.wherrymortuary.com.
