Marilyn Carpenter

Marilyn J. Carpenter, age 75, of Sheridan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 17, 2022, passing away at her home under the loving care of her family and Kindred Hospice.<br><br>Marilyn is the wife of Rev. Robert Carpenter, pastor's wife to the Sheridan Church of God. She has been very involved at the church serving in a number of various roles. Marilyn has also enjoyed volunteering at the Montcalm County Commission on Aging, where one of her favorite jobs was driving people to events and appointments. She also worked as a Census Taker for several years and liked visiting people as she collected their information. However, next to Marilyn’s love for Jesus, her favorite thing was her family and she cherished every moment spent with them. She loved knitting and crocheting things for them, going to their sporting events, listening to their band and choir concerts, and attending all their other activities. Marilyn was a wonderful wife, loving mother, and the best grandma of all times and she will be dearly missed.<br><br>Surviving Marilyn is her husband of 56 years, Rev. Robert Carpenter; daughters, Dawn (Mark) Bolen of Greenville and Tamara (Fred) Udell of Ionia; sons, Robert Carpenter III of Lansing, Rick Carpenter of Cedar Springs, and Randy Carpenter of Fenwick; grandchildren, Gabriel Bolen of Greenville, Nichole Bolen of Greenville, Zachariah (Taylor) Bolen of North Dakota, Emily Carpenter of Ionia, Kiley Carpenter of Ionia, Marina Carpenter of Lansing, Amber (Levi) White of Ionia, Harley Carpenter of Lakeview; great grandchildren, Chaynce, GraiceLynn, Diesel, Harley, Adelyn, Leland, and Braxten; and her sister, Carolyn Skiver of Bradenton, Florida.<br><br>Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Donald & Norma (Gardener) Tuttle.<br><br>Marilyn’s life is being celebrated on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the Sheridan Church of God (7220 S. Sheridan Rd.). Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM. Memorial services will begin at 11 AM.<br><br>Memorial donations in Marilyn’s memory may be given directly to the family. Envelopes will be available at the church on Friday.
