Wayne Chamberlin
<p>John “Wayne” Chamberlin aka “Chambie” 80 years old of Flin Flon, Manitoba passed away on June 17, 2022, with family at his side at Northern Lights Manor.</p> <p>Wayne was born to parents Earl and Anne (Andreychuk) Chamberlin on August 2, 1941 in Ethelbert, Manitoba and was the middle child with 2 sisters; Earla Nichol and Merle Hook. Wayne graduated from Hapnot Collegiate and then worked as a mechanic/boilermaker for Hudson Bay Mining & Smelting for 37 years retiring in 1996. Wayne met many of his lifelong friends while working at HBM&S. Wayne was known for his stories (some may call these a different name). Wayne would share these stories at work, uptown on Main Street leaning on a parking meter, his coffee shop crew or anyone who would listen to them.</p> <p>Wayne married Dorothy (Thompson) the love of his life and best friend June 26, 1965, who survives him. Wayne is also survived by daughter Keri (Brent) and son Patrick (Angie). Grandchildren Trevor (Shannon), Megan (Doug), Marley (Derek), Tanner, Noah, Hudson, Curtis, Chloe & Ellie. Great grandchildren Colby, Blake, Ashton, Peyton and soon to be a new princess. Wayne stated his greatest achievement was raising 3 children. His grandchildren brought him joy and pride giving him bragging rights that any grandfather was entitled to. Wayne said being a grandparent was more enjoyable as you are able to spend more time with them and spoil them rotten and send them back to their parents.</p> <p>Wayne was predeceased by his son Curtis in 2015, parents Earl & Anne and father and mother-in-law John and Gladys Thompson.</p> <p>Wayne was known for his love of sports, hockey, baseball, golf and curling and one could find him frequenting the hockey rink as a (parent, coach, fan) ball diamond (parent, coach, umpiring) or golf course. Wayne’s sense of humor and practical jokes were often spoke of by anyone who knew him or were on the receiving end of these. He enjoyed many of his fishing, golf, and hockey trips with his friends where many memories were made and often discussion at the coffee shop.</p> <p>According to Wayne’s wishes cremation has taken place. A private family celebration will be held at a later date.
