John Mugford Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Mugford, age 90, previously of Upper Gullies, CBS, in Winnipeg, MB, on Thursday, Jun 9th, 2022 after a brief illness.
John was predeceased by his parents, John and Charlotte Mugford, his son Robert and sister, Goldie Powell and brother-in-law, Ken. Left to miss him dearly is his wife of 64 years, Shirley, his daughter Lesley Anne (Jim), daughter-in-law Joselyn, grandchildren Scott (Heather), William (Aymsley) and Alanna, great grandchildren, Isiah, Lincoln and Amelia, his brother Malcolm (June), sister Pat Haley (Peter) and sister-in-law Anne Wellon (Randell), as well as his nieces and nephews.
John was born in Morristown, NJ on Apr 22, 1932 and moved to Newfoundland that same year, where he spent the majority of his life, before moving to Ottawa in 2004 and then to Manitoba in 2020.
Cremation has taken place and John will be interred with Robert in Ottawa, ON at a later date.

“He was never one for praises, he was never one to boast, he just went on quietly working, for the ones he loved the most. His dreams were seldom spoken, his wants were very few and most of the times his worries went unspoken too. He was there, a firm foundation, through all our storms of life, a sturdy hand to hold on to, in good times and in strife.
