Roger A. Langelier

<p><span style="font-size:16px;">Roger Arthur Langelier, passed on peacefully June 7, 2022, at the age of 93.&nbsp; He was born December 28, 1928&nbsp;and was the son of Henry and Alice Langelier.&nbsp; Roger was a lifelong resident of North Smithfield and was married to Virginia (Coleman) Langelier for 62 years.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;">The couple have four children,&nbsp;Christine, Mark, Michael, and Gregory Langelier.&nbsp; He is also the grandfather of Natasha, Avary, Nicholas, Theresa, Erin, Kerri, and Kara. He is the great-grandfather of&nbsp;Natalie and a child still within her mother&#39;s womb.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;">He had five siblings who are now deceased,&nbsp;Norman, Doris, Constance, Helen and Janet.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;">He has two daughters-in-law, Beverly,&nbsp;Julie&nbsp;and a son-in-law, Michael.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;">He was a commercial painter for over 60 years. Roger was a member of our country&#39;s &quot;Greatest Generation.&quot;&nbsp; A child of the Depression, his loving parents made sure that their children&#39;s needs were met in that&nbsp;desperate time. This is when Roger developed his deep love of God, Family and Country.&nbsp; Later, during the outbreak of World War 11, Roger heroically enlisted in the Navy as a 16-year-old teenager to fight Hitler&#39;s tyranny.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;">Roger had a wonderful group of lifelong friends.&nbsp;Al, John, Jack, Skippy, Jim, and Joe formed this tight knit circle of friendship that lasted for over 70 years.&nbsp; All have since passed on.&nbsp;Roger was the last of this loving group of men.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;">Roger married his soul mate, Virginia on October 15, 1960&nbsp;and over the next 62 years&nbsp;they raised and nurtured their 4 children. The journey was not always easy, but it was always filled with love.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;">.Roger was a devout member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for the past 3 decades. His faith in&nbsp;God made him into the wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, in-law, and friend that he will always be remembered for. He has now passed onto his loving Creator.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;">Arrangements are entrusted to Keene-Brown Funeral Home,&nbsp;445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held&nbsp;June 13, 2022&nbsp;at 11:00 AM in&nbsp;St. John&rsquo;s Church, Slatersville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;">The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, to please donate to: Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 N.
