Dorothy O'Farrell O'Lear

Dorothy O’Farrell O’Lear, age 99, of Vails Grove, Brewster, NY, died on Tuesday,
April 8, 2014 at Salem Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Purdy’s, NY.

Mrs. O’Lear was born in New York City on January 23, 1915 to Nicholas and Catherine (Schlipp) Nehrbauer. She was graduated from Jamaica High School in Queens, NY.

Mrs. O’Lear married Robert O’Farrell who died in 1967 and later married Joseph O’Lear who died in February 12, 2010.

Mrs. O’Lear had lived in Vails Grove in Brewster for 46 years. She had lived in Franklin Square, NY prior. Mrs. O’Lear enjoyed outings with the Vails Grove ladies and reading.

Mrs. O’Lear was a loving and gentle woman who was always there for her family. She held her friends in high regard and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. O’Lear is survived by her daughter Patricia O. Brown of West Chester, PA and her son Kevin O’Farrell of Goldens Bridge, NY; a step son Charles O’Lear of Brookfield, CT and a step daughter Carole Bryant of Ronkonkoma, NY. Also five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one step grandson. She was predeceased by her son Robert O’Farrell in 1949 and her daughter Kathleen O’Farrell in 2012.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 14, 2014, 11am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster, NY. A private cremation was held earlier. Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster will be assisting with the funeral arrangements. www.beecherfuneralhome.com
