Chesapeake Barbara Kent Byrd, 80, of Chesapeake passed away June 2, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Norfolk County she was the daughter of the late Robert and Muriel Kent. She was also predeceased by a step-mother Mildred Kent; son-in-law Michael Lee; ex-husband, Robert Byrd; granddaughter Alyssa Dance. She was a graduate of Oscar Smith High School. She was assistant troop leader for Girl Scouts, long time resident of Chesapeake, worked at General Electric and she was a CNA for 30 plus years. She loved camping, dancing, playing cards and games, and most importantly her friends and family. She was loved and will be greatly missed. Survivors include daughter, Yvette Lee of Moyock; brother, Robert E. Kent (Lorraine); grandchildren, Kristina Dance (Jaime), Tiffany Neal (David Spain), Sandy Davidson (Joey); seven great-grandchildren, Jaime Dance, Peyton Dance, Landon Spain, Elana Spain, Autumn Davidson, Melody Davidson, Braxton Davidson; nieces, Daren Geegle (John) , Nikki Smith (Mike) A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Wednesday June 8, 2022 at Oman Funeral Home 653Cedar Road Chesapeake, VA 23322, The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Funeral Home.
