Geneva Kramer Sheldon, Iowa Geneva Kramer, age 96, of Sheldon, Iowa passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, Iowa. Her service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, June 6, 2022 at the First Reformed Church in Sheldon, Iowa with Rev. Dave Van Kley ~ officiating. Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon. Visitation with the Family Present will be from 9:30 until the time of service on Monday, June 6, 2022 at the First Reformed Church in Sheldon, Iowa. The Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon, Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Arrangements are under the care of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home; Sheldon, Iowa Geneva Kramer, the daughter of Ed and Nancy (Koerselman) Oolbekkink was born on March 28, 1926 in Newkirk, Iowa. She received her education in Newkirk and graduated from Newkirk High School, that summer she attended schooling and received her teaching certificate. On November 20, 1946, she was united in marriage to Henry Martin Kramer in the Newkirk Reformed Church in Newkirk, Iowa. The couple made their home in Sheldon, where she was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker, not only to her children but to the neighborhood kids and relatives. Henry preceded her in death on August 9, 2012. Geneva remained in her home until moving to Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon. Geneva passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, Iowa reaching the age of 96 years, 2 months and 5 days. She was a charter member of Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon, she taught Sunday School, catechism, was active in bible study groups, was on the Library Board and was a member of the Merry-go-around Club. She enjoyed reading and gardening. Memories of Geneva are cherished by her children, Marvin and his wife, DeAlda Kramer of Denver, IA; Leland Kramer of Sioux City, IA; Peggy and her husband, Ted Riepma of Sheldon, IA and Dixie and her husband, Gordon MacNeil of Tuscaloosa, AL; six grandchildren, Ami (Michael) Grant, Dave Kramer, Rachel (Dan) Hoeck, Kim (John) Lopez, Toni Stroup and Tony Matzke, Kelly MacNeil and Samuel Bougher; ten great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her son, Rodney Kramer; her parents; 2 brothers and 5 sisters and their spouses.
