Betty Ann Jarboe Obituary

Betty Ann Jarboe, 85, passed away on June 1, 2022 at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

She was born in Tell City on August 2, 1936, daughter of Waitman “Jiggs” and Wilma (Ward) Haney.

Betty married William C. “Billy” Jarboe on July 4, 1962.  They were married for 59 years before he passed away in January of 2022.

Betty had worked at General Electric until 1974, leaving to become a homemaker for her family and to babysit. She later assisted at Leopold Post Office until her mother retired. Betty then became the lead replacement for Ruthie Bryant until 2001.

She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, where she taught religion for many years and volunteered at St. Mark Shooting Matches.  Betty dedicated many years to 4-H, especially when her girls were growing up. She never met a stranger and loved to visit.  Betty always looked forward to spending time with her family.

Surviving are her daughters, Jackie Lockridge (Steve), Boonville and Jill Peter (P.J.), Huntingburg; grandchildren, Matt Lockridge (Lacey), Ross and Victor Peter; great grandchildren, Max, Molly and Morgan Lockridge and a brother, Pat Haney, Sr., of Leopold.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband and a sister, Linda Sue Kieser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at St. Mark Catholic Church. Rev. Luke Waugh will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 until 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:30 until 9:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Cemetery or Hosparus Health of Southern Indiana.
