Kermit Warner Bowen Obituary

Kermit Warner Bowen, age 86, of Sheridan, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Masonic Pathways in Alma.

Warner graduated from the Sheridan Rural Agricultural School in 1954. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and spent a year in Saudi Arabia after his basic training. After his military service, Warner began an award winning career as a golf course designer, architect, and builder, designing many courses including: Glenkerry Golf Course, Holland Lake Golf Course, Schuss Mountain Golf Course at Shanty Creek Resorts, Double R Ranch, Rolling Hills Golf Estates, Indian River Golf Club, and many more courses.

Surviving Warner are his sons, David (Susan) Bowen of Smiths Station, Alabama and Tim (Susan) Bowen of Alpena; brothers, Doug (Suzanne) Bowen of Sheridan and Danny (Wendy) Bowen of Waynesville, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Della Bowen of Albuquerque, New Mexico; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Warner was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit & Ida (Moats) Bowen; sister, Dorothy Arwood; and brother, Phil Bowen.

Warner will be laid to rest on Friday - June 10th, 2022 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan.
