Earl Everett Bishop

FULLERTON—Earl E. Bishop, 95, of Fullerton, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022, at Arbor Care Center in Fullerton. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2022, at Fullerton Community Church in Fullerton with Pastor Joy Church officiating. Inurnment will follow at Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton with military honors by Fullerton American Legion Post #151 and United States Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 26th at Fullerton Community Church. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Earl was born August 4, 1926 to Lee and Effie (Scott) Bishop in Belgrade. He attended Timber Creek country school until the third grade before they moved to Fullerton. He graduated from Fullerton High School in 1944. In 1946, he started to work for Northwestern Bell. On June 18, 1950, he was married to Donna McNeely at the First Presbyterian Church in Fullerton. They lived in Ainsworth, Spencer, St. Paul, Central City, and Fullerton. Earl was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952 and stationed at Augusta, GA and the Panama Canal. After he was honorably discharged, he returned to the phone company in 1954, and worked in St. Paul, Central City, and Fullerton. In 1966, he was transferred to Ravenna as manager and, in 1968, to Fullerton as manager. He retired December 31, 1982 after 36 years with Northwestern Bell. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, later the Fullerton Community Church, Lions Club, and Fullerton American Legion Post #151. He was also a board member of Fullerton Public Schools. He loved golfing, fishing, and going to the casinos. Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 71 years, Donna of Fullerton and children, Pamela Sue Bishop of Houston, TX, Debra Lynn Bishop of Gilmore, TX, and Tommy Joe Bishop of Fullerton. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, David Bishop; twin brother, Dale Bishop; brother, Dick Bishop; and sisters, Audrey Stuart and Thelma Webb.
