Thomas Martin

MARTIN, Thomas- of Clio, age 81, died Sunday, May 22, 2022, at his residence surrounded by family. Memorial service will be held in the mausoleum at 11AM Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Thomas was born July 10, 1940, in Walden Ridge, Arkansas, to the late Herman and Erma Neal (Ballard) Martin. He attended Beecher High School and worked as a laborer at General Motors for 30+ years, he retired in 1995. Thomas was a member of the Eagles Club #3485 and American Legion Post #64. On February 27, 1968, Thomas married the love of his life and best friend, Carol Harrington, in Flint. Together they shared 57 years of marriage. Thomas loved his classic cars and attending car shows with his red Mustang- he even won several trophies over the years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening in his spare time. Thomas liked to travel up north and go camping during the summertime. He often watched old western shows, his favorites being Roy Rodgers, John Wayne, and Walker, Texas Ranger. Most importantly, Thomas loved spending time with his family and was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The family wishes to extend a thank you to Kindred Hospice for their professionalism and compassion during his final days. Thomas is forever loved by his wife, Carol Martin; Children: Scott (Beth) VanBelois and Sandra Noffsinger; His girls: Darcie Dubie and Maureen Munselle; Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Siblings: Butch (Peggy Lynn) Martin Jr., Sharon Chaney, and Mike (Lorna) Martin; Several nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Sr. and Erma Neal; Brother, Fred Martin; Grandson, Mitchell Noffsinger; Sister-in-law, Donna Martin; Many loving, furry companions over the years.
