Hazel Irene Felts, 95, of Springfield, died at 7:16 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. Hazel was born on October 4, 1926, in Springfield, the daughter of William and M. Joye (Boutwell) Bryant. She married Earl Felts on March 29, 1947. She graduated from Feitshans High School and worked as a Retail and Audit Supervisor for Sears for over 20 years. Hazel volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Bingo, and was an election judge. She was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church. Hazel enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; sons, Jack and James “Jim” Felts; grandson, Matt Felts; her parents; and sister, L. Ruth Stewart. Hazel is survived by her son, Jerry (wife, Rhonda) Felts of Springfield; daughters-in-law, Dianne Felts of Springfield, and Theresa Shields-Felts of Morton; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 1 niece. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Joanne Hinds officiating. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park.
