Anne E. Lacey Obituary

Anne Elizabeth Lacey, 77, our beloved mother, wife, grams, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2022.  She lived a beautiful life, full of grace, beauty, and strength, and will be missed by the many people whom she touched and loved so dearly.

Anne is survived by her best friend and husband of Fifty-four years, Edward, and three loving children, Mark and his wife Elizabeth (Phillips) of Middletown, NJ; Amanda and her husband Michael McGlynn of Wickford, RI; and son Eric of San Diego, CA.  She was a proud and loving Grams to Sean and Gavin McGlynn.

Born in West Orange and raised in Kinnelon, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Anne (Burtt) Webb and the oldest sibling to the late William and Francis Webb.  After graduating from Butler High School, she met her husband Ed and raised their three children in the picturesque Fayson Lakes community.  After working in various positions throughout the Kinnelon school system, she retired from the Kinnelon Board of Education in 2013.

Family and close friends will fondly remember Anne’s ability to plan the most special details for holidays, vacations, and many festive occasions with her signature style, flair, and sparkle.  Anne never showed up empty-handed.  She would pack the family car with a month’s worth of homemade pies, meals, and gifts, only to stay for a short visit.  Her arrival would always be met with the same question: “how long are you staying?”  Our wish today - that those visits would have lasted just a little longer.

Her greatest joy was her family.  She was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was always there to wholeheartedly support all of us in every way.  As we look back on mom’s life, we are so thankful for the many wonderful times we spent together as a family.  Her cheerful attitude, beautiful green eyes, and bright smile will be missed.

To honor Anne, have a slice of key lime pie, sip on a Manhattan, go swimming with the mermaids, and hug the ones you love a little bit tighter.  We will always carry your memory and laughter in our hearts – “Here’s Love.”

A private service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements by James J. Gallogly and Sons Funeral Homes.
