Lloyd Wilbur Oertel, Sr., 93, of West Windsor, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 13, 2022. Born in Dayton, Lloyd served as a Corporal in the United States Army, 11th Airborne division. He was a member of the West Windsor Volunteer Fire Co. and retired from Public Service Electric and Gas after 42 years. Following retirement, Lloyd was active in the West Windsor Senior Center. Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Rose Oertel; his wife, Helen; his brother, Charles; and his sisters, Doris, Madeline, Anne, and Dorothy; he is survived by his children, Debra (Dave) Walker, Cindy (Alan) Boyden, Lloyd (Linette) Oertel, and Tom (Cindy) Oertel; his grandchildren, Chris and Katherine Walker, Jackie (Andrew Phillips) and Eric Boyden, Rachel (Trey) Godwin, Jessica Oertel, and Jaime Oertel; and his great-granddaughter, Madeline Phillips. The private funeral service was held on Thursday, May 19, 2022, with interment at Princeton Memorial Park in Robbinsville, New Jersey. A Celebration of Life will be held at a date in the future.
