Louise M. Carrella Obituary

Louise Carrella, 94, passed away at her home with her family by her bedside. Born in Nutley, NJ, Louise lived in Brooklyn, Staten Island and then moved to New Jersey with her husband, Felice, to be near her family. Her final home was living at her daughter and son in law’s house with her son. It is a gift we could never be more grateful for. Louise was a devoted wife and an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a fabulous Italian cook (nothing compares to her homemade manicotti), an avid bowler and loved to play tennis and paddle ball, but mostly, she enjoyed being with her family. Family dinners and gatherings were at the heart of our Italian family, whether at her house in Staten Island, in Brooklyn at my Aunt’s house, or at our summer house in Breezy Point, the abundance of food and drink is a tradition we all carry with us. Family meant everything to Louise and she always put them first. Her children and grandchildren could do no wrong and if you said they did, that red hair would burn like fire. She was the strongest woman we all knew. When the doctors didn’t think she would come through the multiple surgeries and illnesses over the years, she proved them wrong until now. She was truly our Superhero… our Wonder Woman. Louise is predeceased by her parents, Angelo and Anna Algieri; her husband of 54 years, Felice; her brother, Jimmy; and her sister/best friend, Anne. She is survived by her son, Philip; her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Gilbert Collin; her grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Mark and Alex Magariello, with great-grandson, Jace; her grandsons Matthew and Justin Magariello; her brother, Dominic Algieri; and her numerous nieces and nephews.. Funeral services will begin on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Interment will follow at Princeton Memorial Park in Robbinsville, NJ. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.
