Ray Newell, 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Ray was born in Wayne County, NC on September 6, 1946 to the late Will Newell and Virginia Evans Newell. He owned and operated Ray Newells Roofing Company. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Edward Thornton officiating. Ray is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dixie Bennett Newell; sister, Janice Edwards and husband Randolph of Goldsboro; and his nephew, Jimmy Edwards.
