Passed peacefully away, into the waiting arms of her beloved grandson Jordan, at her residence in Clarkes Beach, Rita Mae Blagdon (nee Francis) in the early morning hours of May 11, 2022.

Left to carry on her memory are her children: William (Madeline), Debby (Bert), Donna, David (Cindy), Deeanne (Moe) and the apple of her eye, Gordon (Ann Marie); 11 grandchildren: Bill, Damien, Phillip, Kayla, Krista, Ashlee, Alyssa, Dylan, Katelynn, Madison and grandson Jacob who she shared a special bond; 4 great grandchildren: Hailey, Brady, Jaxon & Anna Bella; siblings: Alma Akerman, James Francis (Isabelle) & Gordon Francis; God child: Tracy Pitcher; special nephews: Derek Akerman (Charmaine) & Darrin Akerman (Shauna); special great niece: Sara Akerman; her extended family the staff & residents of Callingwood Downs, especially the one downstairs who held a special place in her heart; her furry friend: Gizmo; brothers-in-law: Bill Antle, Puis Antle, Ed Lundrigan & Har Fudge.

She is predeceased by her parents: Alice & Edward Francis; sisters: Mildred, Judy, Mary, Beverly, Jessie & Jean; brother: Jack; niece & friend: Stella Youden; brothers-in-law: Ralph Akerman & Philip Pardy; sister-in-law: Mabel and grandsons: Aaron & Jordan.

Mom was unique and special in her own way. She left a lasting impression on her family and everyone she met. As someone once said “Rita is Rita. Nobody tells Rita what to do… we should all should take lessons from her. She is always in control of herself.”
