Kathryn Violet (Plater) Caskie <br><br>Kathryn Violet (Plater) Caskie passed away peacefully on May 16, 2022, at the age of 75, surrounded by her family in her home in Collingwood, Ontario.<br><br>She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Bill Caskie, her son David Caskie and his wife Katrina, her daughter Allyson (Caskie) Theriault and her husband Christophe, and her four grandchildren, Madelyn, Zachary, Josephine and Brigitte, as well as her siblings, relatives and friends.<br><br>Born on May 3rd, 1947, in Collingwood, Ontario, Kathryn was an avid learner and reader, and went on to become a passionate supporter of early education and literacy, as a Teacher, Vice Principal and Principal in the York Region school board. Having achieved her Bachelor of Arts degree as well as her Bachelor of Education from York University she was – and continues to be – an inspiration to her family and her friends as a strong female role model.<br><br>Kathryn loved planning and cooking meals, and pairing the wine to go with them, as well as knitting her famous “Grandma” socks, boating, skiing with her family and friends at Alpine Ski Club, book clubs, and taking walks along the trails in Collingwood. She was also a passionate local fund raiser for the Canadian Cancer Society.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations made in Kathryn’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.<br>

Kathryn Violet (Plater) Caskie passed away peacefully on May 16, 2022, at the age of 75, surrounded by her family in her home in Collingwood, Ontario.
