Jesus Maria Urquidi

Jesus (Blue) Maria Urquidi, 72, passed away on May 15, 2022 in Texas City, Texas. He was the husband of Maria Lucille Urquidi. Together they shared forty-six years of marriage. Born in Markina Vizcaya, Spain he was the son of Benigno Urquidi and Maria Alcibar. He was retired from Amalgamated Sugar Co. where he worked for thirty-eight years as a Warehouse Foreman. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing and was an animal lover. His favorite past time was spending time planting his beautiful gardens. He will be remembered for his beautiful blue eyes, contagious smile, heart of gold. He was a one-of-a-kind man with a gentle soul. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jose Urquidi. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Lucille; children, Yvonne Bertrand (Mike), Yolanda Urquidi Garcia (Angel), Mary Ellen Castillo (Jesus); grandchildren, Whitney Fuentes, Sebastian Fuentes, Nikko Garcia (Cree), Alyssa Garcia, Alyson (Suki) Garcia, Mariah Ellett (Hayden), Makaela Garcia (Jesus), and Mattaea; siblings, Gregoria, Juan, Maria, Eusebia, Maria Dolores, Josefa, Jesusa, and Fernando; four great-grandchildren and his fur baby, Bear. The Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 5:00 -6:00p.m. at Carnes Funeral Home 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591. Funeral Services will be held from 6:00 – 7:00p.m. Everyone here is lucky to have known him. I know he is with us today and smiling at the beautiful memories we’ve shared. He will forever be in our hearts and will never be forgotten. May our handsome angel rest in peace.
