Nina Carlotta Morasch

Nina Carlotta Morasch, age 78, a resident of Ft. Scott, Kansas, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, in Ft. Scott. She was born January 6, 1944, in Queensland, Australia, the daughter of Philip Anthony Bertino and Lucille Muriel Dalby Bertino. Soon after Nina’s birth, the family moved to New York City. She grew up in New York and married Norman Gary Morasch on November 1, 1963, in New York City’s Greenwich Village. The couple soon moved to Kansas City. Nina later took a job with the Internal Revenue Service. She retired from the IRS as a senior auditor after twenty-one years of service. She enjoyed reading and going on QVC shopping sprees. Survivors include two daughters, Rachel Morasch of Ft. Scott and Vivian Westpahl (Mark) of Overland Park, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Devon Morasch (Christina), Morgan Gordon (Ethan), Chelsea Goff (David), Amanda Ruby (Eric), Kori Hays (Stas), Erica Westphal and Grace Westphal and five great-grandchildren, Quinton, Delilah, Waylon, Dawson and Shepard. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, May 20th at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the U. S. National Cemetery in Ft. Scott. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Ft. Scott, Kansas.
