Irene Virginia Timko Obituary

Irene Virginia (Pedemont) Timko, 104, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2022 with family at her side.   She will be missed dearly and always remembered by her kind and gentle spirit, her fun loving attitude and her lifelong dedication to family and friends.

Born in Berlin, CT on October 2, 1917 she was a member of the first graduating class of Berlin High School.  In addition to her role as mother and homemaker, she worked for many years in the office of Royal Typewriter from which she retired at the age of 69.

Her unselfish commitment to the needs of her family was one of the hallmarks of her life.  She provided extraordinary and loving care to her parents, Angelo and Rose Pedemont, her husband, Michael Timko and her two sisters, Emma Godlewski and Rita Simeone.  They have welcomed her to be reunited with them in Heaven.

Irene is survived by her adoring children, Elaine McCarthy of Berlin with whom she made her home and Roger Timko and his wife Mary of Storm Lake, IA.  Irene cherished her grandchildren, Timothy Brenner of Brimfield, MA, Christopher Brenner (Lindsay Petralito) of Berlin and Mary Rose Timko Ivey (Robert) of Fargo, ND.  They will forever cherish their memories of her.  Truly the smiles, hugs and kisses from her great grandchildren, Annalise Brenner, Brooklyn Brenner, and Mary Ivey contributed to her longevity and happiness.  They all shared a special bond that will forever live on.

A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.   Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin is in charge of arrangements.
