Roberta Rowe

Roberta (Bert) Rowe died peacefully at her home (Anthology of Simsbury) on May 16, 2022. Roberta was born in the Bronx, NY on May 26, 1928 to Olga Cook Smith and Robert David Smith. She was predeceased by her ex-husband, Robert Allenby Rowe whom she met while they were students at the University of Rhode Island. Roberta lived in Branford for 65 years. She raised her four children; Elizabeth (Betsy), Shiela, David (April) and James (Janet) in Branford. All the children still live in Connecticut. Roberta was blessed with 11 grandchildren who she loved unconditionally and enjoyed being a central part of their lives. They are Peter (Melissa), Sarah (Nicholas), Rebecca, Hannah, Jonathan, Leah, Katelin, Andrew, Madeline, Daniel and Thomas. Roberta also enjoyed spending time the past few years with her great-grandchildren; Sophie, Sebastian, Noah and Isla. Bert loved her life in Branford and was active in many church, sports and community programs. She used her education as a dietician to help start the Branford Food Council. She was the second grade Sunday School teacher at Trinity Church for years. She touched the lives of many people at church with the grace of her Lay Healing Ministry. Roberta also enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, reading, walking, bike riding and gardening. Roberta especially enjoyed the many hours she and the family spent at Branford Point and the Indian Point Club in Stony Creek. Funeral services are under the care of W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 19 at 10 am at Trinity Episcopal Church, Branford. Burial in Branford Center Cemetery will follow the funeral service. Friends can visit with the family at the church between the funeral service and the burial.
